How To Pay Off Debt Like A Superhero

December 7, 2015 by National Debt Relief

superhero carrying moneyA lot of people are struggling to pay off debt. But despite that, the consumer debt problem of Americans will be here to stay. The use of credit is the norm in this country. We use credit cards to pay for the most trivial of purchases. We use it to pay for our dinner in a restaurant. We use it to pay the groceries. When we need to buy a house, we borrow money for that. Some people cannot buy a car without a car loan. Millions of students are able to get a higher education because they borrowed student loans.

The consumer debt situation of the average consumer is actually quite alarming. Based on the statistics consolidated by ZeroHedge.com, 33% of Americans with student loans are currently behind their payments. This data is taken from the US Department of Education. Not only that, 43 million Americans have some form of medical debt that is left unpaid. These are problems that we need to solve because debt is powerful enough to destroy lives.

Of course, getting out of debt is not an easy task. When you are faced with more than a hundred thousand dollars worth of student loans, it will feel like forever to completely pay off debt.

This is why you need to use superhero qualities if you want to solve your personal debt situation.

Characteristics of a superhero that will make debt freedom a reality

Why superhero? Because they have the qualities that you will need to overcome a powerful enemy. And who is that enemy you may ask? It is none other than yourself.

The reason why it is tough to break out of the vicious credit cycle is because of our perception about it. According to a survey done by PewTrusts.org, 7 out of 10 American view debt as a necessity. They know that it is bad and they have gone as far as to say that if it were up to them, they will not borrow money. However, they also understand that it would be difficult for them to reach their financial goals if not for debt.

This is a very sad perception, but it also proves that the main enemy when it comes to paying off your debt if yourself.

But even if you think that battling with yourself is an impossible task, believe it or not, you can overcome even your own desires. You just have to use superhero qualities to assist you as you pay off debt.

Here are the characteristics of a superhero that you need to use.

They are brave. No doubt, superheroes are the most courageous beings on the planet. While others will run away, they will go in the middle of the fight. They will not think of the danger because they know that the only way they can solve the problem is by immersing themselves in the middle of the fight. The same should be true for you. It may be scary to deal with your debt, but you have to face your fears. No matter how ugly it may seem. Once you have faced your debt situation, that is the only time that you can hope to overcome it.

They know their responsibility. Superheroes also know that it is their responsibility to deal with the problem. Nobody is forcing them into it. They know that if not for them, nobody would help make the problem go away. This is the same mentality that you should have when it comes to your quest to pay off debt. There is nobody who can do it for you. It is you who have to make the sacrifices to get yourself out of a bad credit situation.

They never give up. No matter how difficult the problem is, you should never give up. Superheroes are not given the choice to turn away and leave the problem unsolved. No matter how hard it is and how impossible it may seem, you have to continue working on the problem until it is solved. You just have no choice. Debt, when left unsolved, can seriously compromise your future.

They strive to be perfect. Superheroes, despite their abilities, are not perfect. But despite that imperfection, they still get the job done. This is why it is important for you to cut yourself some slack whenever you make a mistake as you pay off debt. It is okay to fall every now and then but make sure that you will learn from every mistake and you will try your hardest not to make them again.

They know the value of teamwork. Although they have supernatural abilities, superheroes know that working in teams will get them much further. This is something that you need to consider when you are solving debt as a couple. You may be good on your own, but you need to involve your partner – even if they are not the reason why you are in debt. Working as a team on this problem will help you get out of debt a lot faster.

Tips from superheroes that can help bring your credit down

Apart from their characteristics, you can also get some tips from individual superheroes. By studying their personalities and their specific circumstances, you can get more hints about how you can pay off debt.

Here are financial tips that we read off an article from PunchDebtInTheFace.com. We think these superheroes can really help you take your debt relief efforts to the next level.

If you want to pay off debt faster, you have to…

…freelance like Peter Parker. When he is not web-slinging, he is making money as a freelance photographer. If you have a hobby or a skill that you can use to earn extra money – go ahead and utilize that. What you earn from this side gig can be used to increase your debt payments.

…invest like Bruce Wayne. Billionaire Bruce Wayne had it handed to him on a silver plate. He inherited his wealth from his parents – but that does not mean he does nothing with his time. When he is not fighting crime, he continues to manage his company and makes smart investments. This is something that you need to do – not just to help pay off debt but to secure your future as well.

…be persistent like Steve Rogers. Be like Steve Rogers before he became Captain America. Although he was turned down various times, that did not discourage him from joining the army. Soon, his big heart came through and he was chosen for an experiment. The same is true when you are paying off debts. There will be times when you will make mistakes but do not be discouraged. Research your options and be persistent in continuing to pay off your debts.

…have faith in your skills like Tony Stark. We all know that Tony Stark can be full of himself. While we do not want you to be cocky, you need to have confidence in your ability to pay off debt. Anyone can get out of debt if you put your heart into it.

Getting out of debt is a tough project to take on but that does not mean it is impossible. Copy the superhero abilities that we discussed here and you should be able to gain your freedom from debt. But take careful note of the habits that you will use. You may have to retain these habits after you achieve debt freedom – at least if you want to stay out of debt.
